Elizabeth Matta worked as an artist for the Metropolitan Opera for more than five years. Directors, Franco Zeffirelli and Beni Montresor praised her work and encouraged her to pursue a career in painting. She was a designer and artist for the N.Y. Shakespeare Festival as well as for regional theatres throughout the US. Further work included designing for TV at PBS, NBC and ABC in New York City. Among these shows were the "Dick Cavett Show", "Good Morning America" and "The Borrowers" for Hallmark Hall of Fame.
